The Accüsed – mechanized death (tribute)
mechanized death, 2004 After all the “controversy” about the latest Accüsed album (that I totally crave), this double 7″ is another excellent entry in the world of the Accüsed. The versions on this comp range from lo-fi garage thrash to killer renditions hard to distinguish from the originals. Physical Attraction
Physical Attraction – the fool lead the blind, 1994 This is the Swedish answer to late Attitude Adjustment | D.R.I. | Excel and all the classic thrash metal/crossover cohorts the true zerist already loves. Big Sniff – experiment
Big Sniff – experiment, 1993 Featuring members of Ludichrist and Sheer Terror, Big Sniff do (did) not deliver an avalanche of demented speedcore but rather an excellent dose of melodic punk rock not unlike early Scream | 7 Seconds. Gobblehoof – headbanger/(ridin’) shotgun 7"
Gobblehoof – headbanger/(ridin’) shotgun 7″, 1992 2 re-recorded songs from the Massachussetts legend of incredible hard rock – “hard rock” not as in “spandex heavy metal”, rather as in “totally hot rock music with 2 bass drums, amazing dark melodies and dominating vocals”. Always reminds me of the super fucking awesome 1st Stillborn album and also of the Doors with balls. CLASSIC ROCKING ZERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!R!R!RR!R!R!R RRRRRRRRRRR!RR!R!R!RR! Sacrilege
behind the realms of madness (+ 4 live tracks / MetalcOre reissue), 1985 within the prophecy + behind the realms of madness (1st cd reissue), 1987/1985 Within The Prophecy (+ 3 live tracks + 3 demo tracks – 2009 reissue), 1987 turn back trilobite, 1989 within the prophecy – the demos, 1985/1986 early demos, 1984/1985 Zer! To celebrate the successful return from the week of doom, here is at last the more or less complete Sacrilege discography. The formidable power of doomed thrash metal from “behind the realms of madness” is the center of gravity, this goes beyond classic heaviness, this is A MONSTER OF ZERRRR!!!!!! like the heaviest of Celtic Frost and Onslaught with the best of “hell awaits”. The following records tend to a Trouble/Candlemass inspired heavy doom metal while the demos recordings are awesome feasts of abrasion and raw thrashing doom, always with the trademark cold hypnotic female vocals. IMMENSE CULTOSAURUS DOOMICUS THRASHING PILEDRIVING ZERRRRRRRRRR!R!R!R!RRRRRRRRR !R!R! R!R !R! !RR!R!R !RR!R!RR!R !R!RR!R!R! R! !RR! R!! Week of Doom
The feeding of this blog is on the gentle slope this week as my band CortisoL has moved to the dark woods on a remote hill to process the recording of our new album WHICH WILL BE THE MONSTER OF DOOM SLUDGE BLACK HOLE THAT NOBODY EXPECTS LIKE THE SPANISH INQUISITION ZERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!RRRR! Phantasm
wreckage, 1987 (rel. 2001) The all-star underground cult: when Ron McGovney was replaced by Cliff Burton in Metallica, he started Phantasm with Katon de Pena (Hirax) ; Gene Hogland (Dark Angel) smashes the drums on the demo (the cd contains the 1987 demo + 9 awesome live tracks). Sounds good ? Wait to hear the songs! Maximum hiraxoslayeresque SPEED METAL ZERRRRRRRRRRRRRR!R!R!RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!R!R!RR! R!R !R! !R !R! more fancy items for the elite:
Overkill
triumph of the will, 1982, rel. 1985 Metal Massacre 2 featured a song by this Overkill (not the NYC Overkill), although they are more punk rock than metal. Actually this is one of the very first crossover punk-hard rock records, in a way not dissimilar to Powertrip. If you’re in a Necros | Motörhead mood, this your DAY OF ZERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!R!R R!R!R! R!!!!!!!!R! R!R R!R!R R!!!!!!!!!!! R!R !R !R R ! CD rip. No I don’t have the 7″ but I’d like to. And now, new items exclusively for people with class :
HHH
homo homini lupus – split w/Vitu’s Dance, discography disc 1, 1985/1993 (rel. 2000) discography disc1 – part 2 discography disc 2 Explosion of mega zer!!! HHH were (still are) the best HC band I’ve known from Spain, their music is nothing short of an A-MA-ZING blast of thrashing madness. The first releases (disc 2) evoke a lot of early Rattus and Wretched, while their last output (disc 1) is simply one of the best collections of early DRI | Lärm | Negazione one can find in the eternal quest for ULTRA SPEEDCORE THRASHING ZERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!RRRRRRRRRR!! !R! !!RRRRRRRRRRR!R! !R! !R!RRRRRRRRRRR !R!!RRR R!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CD rip (105 tracks!!) and vinyl rip from the split : NB: this vinyl rip is pretty lame, a song of Vitu’s Dance skips (old vinyl…) and there are 19 mp3s for 24 songs. But I’m too lazy to re-rip it, unless strongly requested. No I won’t rip the other HHH vinyls, it’s all on the CD in perfect quality. |
