Death and taxes. After the water from the sky, the water from the city is invading the comfort of my basement, let’s celebrate with a black metal day. What I wrote 4 years ago about this very great album is exactly what it is all about. So let’s have another serving and bang your skull against the nearest pump. H2O til 666!

Kvist – For Kunsten Maa Vi Evig Vike

Kvist – For Kunsten Maa Vi Evig Vike, 1996
A satanic classic: grim rocks, a distant church under the moon, at night (for the moon context), in Fall (to have depressed vegetation – please note the absence of snow). For those who dig white makeup from Scandinavia, mosquito guitars and funeral keyboard, this is a solid record of dirty 90s black metal. It’s reasonably fast and groovy enough, with just the right amount of cheese (i.e. shy keyboards). If you enjoyed the earlier material from Gehenna, you’ll like this excellent album (one of the very few survivors of my thinning black metal collection). It won’t hurt you as much as Spaceboy but it will give you the fix of 666 ZER! Thank you Satan, or Nietzsche, or Thor.
CD rip.
